RAWALPINDI: Army Chief of Staff Gen. Syed Asim Munir is currently in China on a four-day official visit, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a brief statement.

“COAS is on a four-day official visit to China for strengthening bilateral military relations,” the military media department said without providing further details.

This is General Munir‘s fourth overseas visit since taking command of the Pakistani army. In January, General Munir paid an official visit to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on his first overseas visit as army chief.

The COAS had met during his stay in Saudi Arabia Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman and “revised bilateral relations and the ways to strengthen them.”

Later, General Munir visited UAE and met President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and discussed defense and military ties.

At the meeting, the two also discussed ways to strengthen military affairs to serve the common interests of the friendly countries, the state news agency said.

A month later General Munir visited the United Kingdom on a very important visit at the invitation of the UK Ministry of Defense to discuss security-related strategic issues.

After the visit to Great Britain General Munir again visited the UAE and met the president.
