Barbie fans should be more than happy with the most recent trailer for the Margot Robbie movie, right? However, some are seriously concerned about the absence of the Aqua number.

Yes, fans are baffled by this week’s Warner Brothers ‘Barbie’ redesign, with many claiming that the lack of Aqua’s ‘Barbie Girl’ is a HUGE missed opportunity.

Check out the comments on the omitted 1997 hit; one person claims it will be heartbreaking if the song is stopped.

Another fan notes that similar to the Aqua song, the movie opens with Ryan Gosling’s character Ken shouting “Hi Barbie!” and Margot replied “Hello Ken!”

Ulrich Mller-Jrgensen, manager of Aqua singer Lene Nystrm, stated that the song would not be included in the film when it was first announced, though he never gave a justification.

Of course, Mattel and Aqua have had a legal conflict. In 1997, the toy company sued MCA Records for distributing the song because Mattel believed it would damage his reputation. The battle was eventually won by Aqua.
