As the situation in the country stabilizes after days of violent protests, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Peshawar (BISEP) announced new dates for postponed exams on Saturday.

The exams, which were previously postponed, will now be held on May 19-23, the board said in a statement.

Under the new schedule, the 10th grade math exam will be held on May 19, 9th grade math on May 20th, 10th grade chemistry on May 22nd, and 9th grade math on May 23rd.

The rest of the exams, including biology and Pakistani studies, will be held on schedule, it added.

Meanwhile, starting tomorrow (Monday), all government and private educational institutions will reopen.

PTI workers had launched violent protests across Pakistan earlier this week after party chairman Imran Khan was arrested on May 9. Several people were killed in the protests, while infrastructure was damaged in some cities.

The governments of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa called in the army to deal with the situation, exams were postponed and educational institutions closed.

The situation began to stabilize after the release of the PTI chief following a court order.
