Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson is one of the bankable names in the industry because of his blockbuster movies and acting talent. The WWE icon turned actor got his biggest break after starring in the Fast & Furious franchise where he played the role of Luke Hobbs. Do you know why he left the action franchise? For the inexperienced, Dwayne’s breakup with co-star Vin Diesel was the reason behind his sudden departure and even after numerous attempts, the former never returned.

When Vin Diesel pleaded with Dwayne Johnson to bring back Fast & Furious

It was during the production of ‘The Fate of the Furious’ in 2016 when Vin Diesel angered Dwayne by showing up late to the sets. The latter took to his social media to call his co-stars “unprofessional.” In 2021, Vin took to his Instagram account to ask his “little brother” Dwayne to return to the blockbuster franchise.

Vin shared a photo of him and Dwayne and wrote, “My little brother Dwayne… it’s here. The world is waiting for the Fast 10 final. As you know, my kids call you Uncle Dwayne in my house. There isn’t a holiday that goes by that she and you don’t send well wishes… but the time has come. The legacy awaits. I told you years ago that I would keep my promise to Pablo. I swore we would reach and manifest the best Fast in the final which is 10! I say this out of love… but you have to show up, don’t leave the franchise idle, you have a very important role to play. Hobbs cannot be played by anyone else. I hope you rise to the occasion and fulfill your destiny.”

Dwayne Johnson called Vin Diesel’s post manipulative

During an interview with a tabloid, Dwayne responded to the post shared by Vin, saying he didn’t appreciate the actor bringing his kids and the late actor Paul Walker. He was quoted as saying, “I told you [Diesel] direct that I would not return to the franchise. I was firm but heartfelt in my words, saying that I would always support the cast and always advocate for the franchise to be successful, but there was no chance I would return. Vin’s recent public post was an example of his manipulation. I didn’t like that he raised his kids on the post, as well as the death of Paul Walker. Leave them out. We had talked about it months ago and came to a clear agreement.”
