Director-actor Selvaraghavan says ‘I’m not dead’ to a fan; This is why

Selvaraghavan is a popular director and actor in Tamil cinema. He is highly regarded and loved for his performances and directing style. When a fan re-watched his classic directorial film Thulluvadho Ilamai, he gave an angry response, which has now caught the internet’s attention. The fan wrote a lengthy note praising the director. However, Selvaraghavan took it the wrong way as the note sounded like he had died or retired from films. In a fiery reply, he said, “Why my friend? I’m not dead or retired. I’ve just spent some time to myself. I’m just in my 40s… And I’m back.”

Selvaraghavan managed to impress the audience with his debut film titled Thulluvadho Ilamai (2002) in which his brother Dhanush played the lead role. The film became a sleeper hit and received positive reviews from critics for breaking the stereotypes of Tamil films. The film depicts the story of six high school classmates, who escape from their house due to problems and decide to live on their own. After this masterpiece, he delivered many successful directorial films.

Selvaraghavan made his debut as an actor in Thalapathy Vijay’s Beast directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Though the film received mixed reviews from critics and audiences, his performance was appreciated by all. He then followed it up with Saani Kaayidham, starring Keerthy Suresh and directed by Arun Matheswaran of Rocky fame. His performance in the film was highly praised.

Selvaraghavan last delivered a hit with Dhanush’s Naane Varuven in which the actor played a dual role. The film received good reviews from the audience as a good suspense thriller. According to reports, he plans to make the sequel to his cult classic 7G Rainbow Colony. Starring Ravi Krishna and Sonia Agarwal in the lead roles, the film was a major trendsetter among the youth and is regarded as a modern classic in Tamil cinema. According to reports, Krishna could also reprise his role in the sequel, but the actress, Sonia Agarwal, is no more. A new addition to the cast will be added.
