Florence Pugh’s fashion dominance continues as she is the latest star to officially join the Valentino family. The ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ actor was unveiled as the face of the Italian fashion house on April 26 when she showcased the iconic Valentino Rockstud bags and shoes in a series of stunning images captured by fashion photographer Steven Meisel.

In the photos, Pugh can be seen expressing a range of emotions, from shock to joy, as he holds the Rockstud bag in a variety of colorways, including Barbiecore pink and metallic silver. And she wasn’t about to let clothes distract her from the accessories at hand. The six campaign images, styled by Joe McKenna, feature Pugh rocking the pantless trend in plunging bodysuits and studded heels, as well as off-the-shoulder dresses and printed co-ords.

Pugh’s glamor team followed the theme with looks that complemented her casual outfits. Pat McGrath was in charge of her make-up, sporting her signature eyeliner, dewy skin and matte nude lip, while Guido Palau kept her blonde bob swept back from her face with a side parting. Nail artist Dawn Sterling also deserves extra kudos for Pugh’s nails, which include a nude manicure adorned with a single crystal stud on each nail, in keeping with the campaign.

“It’s not just a face, it’s a real partnership based on trust and respect. I met Florence right after my couture show and I was impressed by her intelligence and courage, the way she stands.” [sic] for herself, the ability to handle all circumstances with such grace and insight,” creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli wrote on Instagram on April 26. ‘Maybe it’s because of her job or maybe this is why she’s for [sic] to become an actress in the first place. What is actually relevant to me is that this young, brightly talented actress became a friend of mine and together we decided to embark on this campaign. Rockstud is a statement of itself and of Florence [sic] interpretation of it is exactly what I had in mind to tell this story.”

Pugh has long been a fan of Valentino designs, wearing a bare-breasted dress for the premiere of “A Good Person” in March, a sheer, thong-revealing skirt for Valentino’s Fall/Winter show at Paris Fashion Week, and a nude dress for the cover of Vanity Fair, just to name a few. In addition, Pugh made headlines after speaking defiantly to body-shamers who criticized her bright pink sheer dress at the Valentino Haute Couture show, which led to her meeting with Piccioli. Now, as the face of the brand, she certainly had the last laugh.

“Working with talented people is one thing, but working with talented people who are great friends feeds the soul! And this campaign really did feed the soul. Thank you for letting me be me,” Pugh added on her own Instagram. And the adoration for her did not stop there. Zendaya, who also starred in Valentino campaigns, responded with heart-eye emojis, and the pair exchanged notes about when they’ll see each other again. Do we see a Valentino mashup coming?
