The ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike has added the HBO program to the long list of series that have been postponed, including Stranger Things, Andor Season 2 and Severance Season 2. According to sources, due to the lack of screenplays for season 2, the casting team was already asking potential actors to read passages from The Last of Us Part II before the delay. Filming for the second season will begin in the early months of 2024 in Vancouver, Canada. Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin are the creators of the post-apocalyptic drama television series and they are both currently on strike.
When is The Last of Us coming out?
The creators of The Last of Us previously announced that the show would have more than two seasons due to its revenge-based premise. According to reports, filming is set to begin late this year or early 2024. In fact, Bella Ramsey, the show’s lead actress, stated that the show will premiere in late 2024 or early 2025.
Fans and critics alike agreed that season one of The Last of Us was a success, and HBO quickly approved a second season. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will return as series protagonists, it has been revealed.
