When the mother-daughter first posed for an Intimissi campaign a year ago, internet users were quick to label the ads “disturbing.” This resulted in the 49-year-old model and daughter receiving huge backlash online. While people pointed out that Leni had just turned 18, they said Heidi “sexualized” her daughter the moment she reached legal age.
Why are Heidi Klum and Leni facing backlash?
Heidi and her 19-year-old daughter Leni recently posed together for another Intimissi campaign in lingerie sets. Heidi wore a lilac lace lingerie set as she stood next to Leni and held her hand, who was wearing a white lingerie set. Klum took to Instagram to post the photos from her shoot with the caption, “Yiiiipppppiiiiiiiii our new @intimissimiofficial campaign is here. You can discover #theartofitalianlingerie online and in all Intimissimi stores. If you can find me and @leniklum on billboards all over Germany sees… tag us and we’ll share our favorites on our stories!”
Heidi’s comments have been disabled for over a year now. The model shut down her Instagram comments following the massive backlash she received when she first posed with her daughter Leni for an Intimmissi campaign. Last year, Heidi was widely criticized for letting her 18-year-old daughter pose with her for a lingerie shoot.
Netizens labeled the shoot as “weird” and “disturbing.” The motive behind this came from several reasons. One user pointed out, “I wouldn’t do a sexy lingerie model with my mom.” Another added: “Sexualizing your daughter the moment they become legal is weird.”

Leni Klum talks about being a ‘fake baby’
Leni Klum didn’t shy away from admitting that she’s lucky to have a handle on her parents’ connections. The rising star told People that it doesn’t bother her when people call her a “fake baby.” She added, “It’s just a fact. My parents are famous. I got help getting started and I know people would dream of starting with what I had.
Leni also addressed the backlash her mom had and faced for the lingerie shoot, as she admitted, “honestly didn’t look at a lot of the comments.” The young model took the criticism to heart, saying: “I’m happy with the campaign overall and I had a great day with my mum. I think the photos turned out great and we had a great time.”
Heidi has said that modeling is not what her daughter is focusing on at the moment. She said that Leni Klum focused on her studies in New York.
