In 2021, in an effort to make users’ experience more enjoyable, Instagram rolled out the ability to hide the number of likes and views on all posts in their feed. This way, users can focus on the content, rather than the popularity of the content.
This update also gave users the option to hide the number of likes and views on their own posts from other users. You can hide the number of likes and views on a post before you post it or you can do it retroactively.

To hide likes on other accounts:
1. Open your Instagram profile
2. Select the three black lines in the top right corner

4. Search for messages and select “Messages”

How to hide likes on your Instagram post before sharing:
1. On the last page before posting your Instagram photo (where you write your caption and tag accounts), scroll down and select “Advanced Settings” in gray.

2. Enable “Hide likes and views on this post”.
Tap the white circle to hide likes and view your post counts.

Retroactively hide likes on your Instagram post:
1. Go to the post you want to hide likes from
2. Tap the three gray dots in the right corner of the message
3. Select “Hide number of likes”
Select “Hide Like Count” to hide the number of likes on your Instagram post.

After hiding the number of likes under a post, it says “liked by one user and others.”
This is your sign to hide likes on your Instagram.
