IFTTT, the productivity platform that allows users to create automations across apps and devices, has announced three new AI-powered services. The platform now lets users incorporate AI-generated posts, blogs, and social media summaries into their automations, but only if they subscribe to the $5 per month Pro Plus plan.
IFTTT, which stands for “if this, then that”, is a service that allows users to link together a series of actions between devices and apps called “applets”. This includes automations like adding songs from liked videos on YouTube to a Spotify playlist or getting a notification on your phone about the weather every morning. But now IFTTT is adding another layer of automation to its service.
For example, the AI content creator’s automation can generate an outline based on the topic you write down in IFTTT’s notes widget and then automatically save it to Google Docs. Meanwhile, the social creator option can automatically generate a tweet that describes an entry and links to an entry added to your RSS feed. The AI Digest is also pretty basic and can do things like email you summarized versions of articles published in a specific news channel.
These integrations are available as applets on the IFTTT website, or you can create your own. While ChatGPT and Bing’s chatbot already enabled users to generate digests or post to social media, IFTTT’s integrations look to make this an even more practical process.
“We are very excited about the potential for AI and automation,” said Curley The edge. “Our plan is to release additional AI services in the near future.”
