John Oliver challenges Disney to sue his Mickey Mouse mascot

Yuck! So how can Oliver claim Mickey as his show’s new mascot? “The fact is that anyone who uses the steamer Willie Mickey Mouse will probably still take a risk, but if you know about (Last week tonight) we now like to take a risk every now and then.”

And for Disney lawyers who argue that the mouse is too closely tied to their brand? Buckle up, says Oliver: “They need to know that he’s now quite associated with our brand, too, and not just because I have a general vibe that screams ’95-year-old rat-faced idiot’.”

But Oliver was nowhere near ready to let his own HBO advocates reach into the medicine cabinet for extra-strength Excedrin. You see, Oliver didn’t just trot out Mickey pictures – the mouse can talk too! (Oliver: “Come to think of it, your voice is already public domain?” Mickey: “I think you’ll figure it out!”) Last Week Tonight Mickey tried out some new catchphrases last night, like: “Jeffrey Epstein did not commit suicide!”

And another sure favorite phrase: “Where’s Shelly Miscavige?”

There was nothing for Oliver to do but shrug that mean rat and exclaim, “There he goes again!” To dig this hole well and deep, the comedic host also told viewers that he would soon be selling Mickey mascot costumes, good for “birthday parties, theme park openings, funerals, sex dungeons – basically, whatever you want to use it for.” ”

If we were Oliver, we’d use one of those mouse masks to hide from the sheriff trying to serve the inevitable subpoenas.
