The trial of Kevin Spacey for sexual assault in the UK started on Wednesday. The process will take about four weeks. During the first day of this trial, the court focused on getting the legal processes in order and Judge Mark Wall sworn in a 12-person jury. The next session of this trial will take place on Friday morning.

Kevin Spacey’s Sex Trial

Kevin Spacey has been charged with sex offenses against four men in the UK. The House of Cards actor faces 12 charges from four different men, all of which allegedly took place between 2001 and 2013. The charges against Kevin Spacey include assault, indecent assault, causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent , and cause a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent. The 63-year-old actor has denied all these allegations against him.

At the hearing, Spacey’s lawyer said he “strongly denies” all allegations and will appear in a British court to prove his innocence and move on with his life. Two-time Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey’s career has been significantly derailed by allegations of sexual assault. He was removed from high-profile shows like Ridley Scott’s All the Money in the World and Netflix’s House of Cards.

During his opening statement, the judge acknowledged the amount of publicity this case has attracted and advised the juror to avoid media coverage as much as possible. If Kevin Spacey is found guilty of these charges, he may face jail time. The actor is currently out on unconditional bail pending trial.

Previously, Kevin Spacey said in an interview with Germany’s ZEITmagazin: “I know that at this point there are people who are ready to hire me once I am cleared of these charges in London. Once that happens, they are ready to move on.”
