The messy one Lionel Messi saga has taken a different turn. The soon-to-be-released superstar has released a video in which he apologizes Paris Saint-Germain for his absence from training to go to Saudi Arabia with his family. PSG would have a day off on Monday after their game against PSG Lorient but with the team losing 3–1 and still unable to clinch the Ligue 1 title, manager Christophe Galtier canceled the day off, leaving Messi absent due to his pre-planned trip.

PSG then Messi suspended for two weeks due to his absence from training, leading to reports that the club does not renew his contract. But on his Instagram, Messi released the statement below:

“I thought we would have a day off after the game as always. I had organized this trip and I couldn’t cancel it,” said Messi. “I had already canceled it before. My apologies to my teammates and I wait to see what the club wants to do with me”

With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, this isn’t something likely to reopen the door to a return to PSG, where both sides seem determined the relationship has run its course, but it does show that Messi is on making is. some make up for missing training. During the suspension, Messi will miss the club’s next two matches Troyes And Ajax and he will not be paid during the duration of his forced break.

There could be a chance that this will see Messi attempt to recover that money from his suspension, but that remains to be seen at this point. But as things stand, a move to PSG, which should have been a glorious one for the club and Messi, looks set to end in disappointment.

There are plenty of candidates for Messi if PSG let him move in the summer, including Inter Miami, Barcelonaand Al Hilal, but there’s a chance other teams could enter the mix.
