Inter Miami finally picked up a point to end a run of five league games in a row with a loss, but a draw will have to become a win as soon as possible to rise from the Eastern Conference basement. Knowing that Tata Martino, Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets are coming is great, but with an eight-point gap for an eight-point playoff spot midway through the season, the Herons need to start finding wins before it’s too late.

Turning against the Crew, the top-scoring team in all of Major League Soccer, is something that’s easier said than done. In their first season under Wilfried Nancy, the Crew will likely be a playoff team and possibly win the MLS Cup depending on how Cucho Hernandez and Lucas Zelarayan perform.

Here are our storylines, how to watch the match and more:

Storylines

International: Between injuries and defense performance, stopping the Crew is easier said than done, even with home field advantage in this one. The Herons will have to do without Gregore, Jean Mota, Ryan Sailor, Dixon Arroyo, Corentin Jean and Franco Negri for the game. Overcoming that will require youth players to step up, but it does present a chance to impress Martino as new coach if they are able to stay on the line and secure a point as the Crew away from home with difficulty.

Columbus crew: Undefeated in their last six games, the Crew are looking to put together a run to stay in the top third of the East. Winning five of their last six games, the Crew have scored 11 goals in that span. Cucho and Zelerayan are both in the top ten for most assists in MLS, showing just how dynamic the Crew’s offense is when the duo can add up to a combined 15 assists per season. Still without Aidan Morris due to Gold Cup commitments and now a personal matter, the midfield will be a bit thin but that should be an issue they can overcome.

Prediction

The road battle for the Crew will continue as Miami takes a point in a gritty performance. Choose: Inter Miami 1, Columbus Crew 1
