  • Latif says Nawaz becomes prime minister for the fourth time.
  • He demands action against Khan’s backers.
  • Zardari returns to Pakistan after finishing the visit to UAE.

Federal minister and leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Mian Javed Latif, has said that party leader Nawaz Sharif will decide the alliance of the PML-N for the upcoming elections.

Speaking at a press conference at the party’s Model Town office on Wednesday, he said Nawaz was previously eight hours away from Pakistan and is now only two and a half hours away.

He said prosperity would return when Nawaz returned to the country.

The federal minister said that friendly countries were investing in Pakistan at Nawaz’s request as he was set to become Pakistan’s prime minister “for the fourth time”.

He said, “PMLN wants free elections on time.”

Javed demanded action against those who launched ‘Project Imran’.

He said one of the institutions had practically engaged in self-accountability and punishment, proving PML-N’s position that there was facilitation.

Latif said that in Pakistan’s history no one could even think of such an incident that happened on May 9 – when Pakistani supporters of Tehreek-e-Insaf looted military installations after the arrest of party chairman Imran Khan.

He said all characters involved in the May 9 incidents should be punished.

There has been speculation about Nawaz’s return to the country after a law was passed limiting the disqualification of parliamentarians to a maximum of five years, ending the lifelong disqualification of the PML-N supremo.

Zardari returns after the visit to the UAE

Former President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Karachi on Wednesday after finishing his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Zardari, who is also a co-chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), reached Jinnah International Airport in a private jet. After landing in Karachi, he went to Nawabshah.

During his three-day stay in the UAE, Zardari held top-level talks with the PML-N leadership – including Nawaz – about the dissolution of the National Assembly at the end of its five-year term. government lineup to be installed in the country, the date of the upcoming general election and other political matters.

PPP Chairman and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who also attended the crucial talks between the two UAE coalition partners, will spend Eidul Adha in Dubai.

After Eid, he will continue to visit Japan.
