Biggest matchup to watch

Washington Spirit v San Diego Wave FC: Fans go in search of goals in this match-up. The last time these two teams played against each other was also on national television. The game ended in a wild 4-3 scoreline in favor of the Spirit, but the team was way out of the playoffs at the time. Now the two sides have a chance to draw even while they are close to the rankings. Fourth place Spirit has plenty of offensive pieces to lead their frontline in Trinity Rodman, Ashley Sanchez and Ashley Sanchez.

Meanwhile, third-place San Diego is off to a strong start to their second season in the league. Their nine goals in five games have come from four different players, with Jaedyn Shaw and Alex Morgan leading the pack with three goals each.

Competition under the radar

Orlando Pride vs Racing Louisville FC: A bottom-of-the-table match between these two sides, but a chance to bounce back over the weekend with different results. Racing in tenth place started the season with a three match unbeaten run, but failed to win this year. Last place Orlando Pride comes off a big win against San Diego Wave FC. The Pride handled the upset in a frantic match by converting their chances, but have still failed to keep a clean sheet. A win by either side could be the momentum they need to head into the second quarter of the season.
