Parineeta and Mardaani director Pradeep Sarkar dies at age 68; Ajay Devgn, Hansal Mehta express sadness

Heartbreaking news is pouring in from the Bollywood industry. Popular filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar has passed away at the age of 68. He is the man behind directing hit movies like Parineeta, Laga Chunari Mein Daag, Mardaani and Helicopter Eela. It is said that the filmmaker had been on dialysis for several days and when his condition worsened at 3am this morning, he was rushed to hospital. But unfortunately he passed away at 3:30 am.

Pradeep Sarkar’s funeral

According to reports in Times Of India, the funeral arrangements for Pradeep Sarkar were made at a crematorium in Santacruz. The funeral will reportedly take place today at 4 p.m. Actress Neetu Chandra confirmed the filmmaker’s passing and revealed that she is heartbroken upon hearing this news. She revealed that the late filmmaker was her first director and she was very close to him and his sister. Neetu received a text message informing her about Pradeep’s passing. Many Bollywood actors have used their social media handles to express their grief.

Ajay Devgn took to his Twitter account and wrote: “The news of Pradeep Sarkar’s passing, ‘Dada’, is still hard for some of us to digest. My deepest condolences (flower bouquet). My prayers are with the deceased and his family. RIP Dada.” Hansal Mehta also took to his Twitter account and wrote, “Pradeep Sarkar. dada. RIP.” Sharing Hansal’s tweet, actor Manoj Bajpayee wrote, “Ohh! That is so shocking! rest in peace daddy!! (folded hands emoji).”
