  • PM orders action against civil servant for delays in projects.
  • Officials will be given one month to complete construction work.
  • The PTI government retaliated against the people of Punjab for supporting PML-N, says Prime Minister Shehbaz.

LAHORE: Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif on Sunday, the concerned departments ordered the speedy completion of ongoing development projects in Lahore.

The Prime Minister made the remarks while visiting the under-construction Lahore bridge and CBD underpass to check out the pace of work. Mohsin Naqvi, Acting Chief Minister of Punjab, accompanied Prime Minister Shehbaz during the visits.

During his visit to the Lahore bridge construction site, PM Shehbaz was informed that the Rs 1,712 million Lahore Development Authority (LDA) project had started in 2021 but was delayed for two years due to the issuance of a Certificate of No Objection (NOC).

The Prime Minister expressed his displeasure with the pace of work and the closure program by the LESCO and ordered legal action to be launched against the official concerned.

The officials were given one month to complete construction work instead of two months.

The Prime Minister also visited the CBD underpass and called the delay unfair. He questioned hiring a third party for validation and oversaw the hiring of a reputable third party at the expense of a construction company.

Later, the Prime Minister chaired a meeting on the development projects in Lahore.

During his speech, the prime minister accused the latest government of taking “revenge” against the people of Punjab for supporting the PML-N, which deliberately halted development projects in the province.

The PTI-led government has not launched any new projects in the past four years, but has also slowed down those initiated by its government.

Prime Minister Shehbaz, former chief minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar said, “The province was handed over to an incompetent and puppet chief minister.”

During the meeting, the Prime Minister was informed about various development projects in the province.
