Ranbir Kapoor reveals that Rockstar is presented to John Abraham before him; This is what changed Imtiaz Ali’s mind

Ranbir Kapoor actor Rockstar was one of the most loved films of his career. This Imtiaz Ali directorial also marked Nargis Fakhri’s debut in Bollywood. This was one of the most notable movies that did extremely well at the box office. Be it Ranbir’s brilliant acting, the script or the songs, everything about this movie holds a special place in the hearts of the fans. But did you know? This film was initially offered to John Abraham. Yes! You heard that right. In a recent interaction with fans, Ranbir opened up about this fact.

John Abraham was offered Rockstar before Ranbir Kapoor

Recalling the funny story, Ranbir Kapoor said that when Imtiaz Ali had come to him, he had offered him another movie based on marketing. He also joked that before becoming an actor he had heard that John Abraham was doing Rockstar but it didn’t happen and it was shelved. During Ranbir’s meeting with Imtiaz, the Shamshera star reminded him of Rockstar and asked him about that movie. At the time, the director said, “The guy who wrote the story for Rockstar wanted to direct and act in it himself, so that’s why he didn’t make the movie. Anyway, we decided to break up and three months later he told me he talked to that man. So that’s how Rockstar was born.” Another reason why Imtiaz chose Ali Ranbir Kapoor instead of John Abraham was because his new version of the protagonist was a much younger character.

Ranbir Kapoor’s work front

Ranbir Kapoor will next star in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, starring Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Triptii Dimri.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Ranbir Kapoor spoke about taking a break after Animal. He said, ‘Well I hope I find something fun soon but I’m happy with this break as I’ve just become a father so I’ll get some time to spend with my daughter. And nothing really appealed to me and I don’t want to be one of those actors who just sign movies to make money unless I really like something,” he said.
