The 2022-2023 Series A season on Paramount+ is underway and will run through May as we expect a heated race for the Scudetto. AC Milan are the reigning champions after their incredible run to the title last season while Inter Milan And Juventus have high expectations of participating in the race. Romeunder legendary manager Jose Mourinho, hope their off-season additions will be enough to get them in the conversation too. Naples have started strongly under the impressive play of young Georgian striker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The promoted parties are Lecce, Cremonese And Monzaand they all try to avoid the fate of Cagliari, Genoa And Venice, all of whom were relegated last season. You can watch all the action, including selected games in Italian, live on Paramount+ throughout the season.

Here’s what you need to know about this week’s action:

Storylines

1. The “first”.

On Sunday, Napoli will meet AC Milan for the first of the three matches that the two sides will play against each other in April. The two teams are also playing in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League and this is just a preview of what will be an exciting clash between the two Italian teams in Europe. Napoli are flying in Serie A and await when they will celebrate their first title in 33 years, 19 points ahead of Lazio.

2. Inzaghi looking for a response

Inter lost to Juventus in the last game before the international break and coach Simone Inzaghi needs a response, especially after mounting rumors of a possible sacking at the end of the current season. Inter have already lost nine Serie A games this year and are currently fighting to finish in the top four. The Nerazzurri need to win against Fiorentina before entering an important month in Europe that sees the Nerazzurri take on Benfica in another Champions League quarter-final.

3. The relegation race

Another exciting end to the season awaits us in the relegation race where Spezia will have a great chance at home against Salernitana this weekend. The home team has a five-point lead over Hellas Verona, which is currently 18th in the league. Sampdoria won the last game against Verona, but are in the back of the table and need a miracle in these last nine games.
