Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Washington Sundar has been ruled out of IPL 2023. He confirmed this from his franchise saying he has suffered a hamstring injury.

Sundar played seven games for his team this year, in which he scored 60 runs in five innings and also took three wickets. His team is currently stuck in ninth place in the points table.

This is Sundar’s third consecutive injury-plagued IPL season. Playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2021, he took three wickets early in the season, though he missed the UAE stage after the COVID-19 break due to a finger injury. After this in January 2022, he stayed out of the Indian team even during the ODI stop on the South Africa tour due to Corona infection. Following this, he was ruled out of the team due to a hamstring injury in the T20 three match series at home to the West Indies.

After being signed by Hyderabad in 2022, Sundar had missed four matches due to a finger ligament injury. In August 2022, while playing for Lancashire in county cricket, Sundar injured his left shoulder, ruling him out of Zimbabwe’s three match ODI series.
