The statement said weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the slain terrorists.

“During an intense firefight, Sepoy Waqas Ali Shah (aged 26, resident of Charsadda District) and Sepoy Basit Ali (aged 24, resident of Peshawar District) fought valiantly and embraced the shahadat,” ISPR said.

It further said that the cleanup of the area is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.

Pakistan’s security forces are determined to remove the threat of terrorism and such sacrifices by our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve, it added.

As Pakistan continues to be gripped by the spate of terror attacks in recent months, the country’s civilian and military leaders have decided to unite against terrorists.

The National Apex Committee – made up of the nation’s top military and political leaders – sought national consensus to stamp out militancy.

The recent terrorist attacks in the rural and urban centers of the country, which killed innocent Pakistanis and law enforcement officers, have prompted the security forces and LEAs to act more quickly against them.
