The UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final continues on Sunday, as VfL Wolfsburg host Arsenal at the Volkswagen Arena in Wolfsburg, Germany. The two sides start the first leg in Germany and then head to England for the second leg. The two teams have a rivalry in the Champions League dating back to 2013, when Wolfsburg knocked out Arsenal and won the title. Fans can watch UWCL’s knockout rounds on CBS Sports Golazo Network.

Here’s how to watch the upcoming match:

Storylines

VfL Wolfsburg: The club is struggling with a number of lingering injuries, but that has not stopped them in the Frauen-Bundesliga. They are top of the domestic league and on their way to the German Cup final, but they need to get through Arsenal if they want to return to Champions League glory. Look for Euro 2022 young player of the tournament Lena Oberdorf who will make an impact in the game when she is healthy, and although the squad will lack Alexandra Popp, they are powered in the front by Ewa Pajor who has scored seven goals this UWCL campaign has made.

Arsenal: The injury bug has taken a huge bite out of the London side this season. The team lost prolific goalscorer Vivianne Miedema and 2022 Golden Boot winner Beth Mead earlier in the campaign, as well as longtime midfielder Kim Little, and will now have to do without Leah Williamson. The midfielder recently revealed she suffered a torn cruciate ligament during Wednesday’s WSL match against Manchester United. Despite missing key pieces, the Gunners worked their way back to a UWCL semi-final performance, thanks to the outstanding performances of Katie McCabe and Stina Blackstinius. The team will also look for additional impact from Steph Catley and Caitlin Foord when they are healthy.

Prediction

Chelsea will put a lot of effort into forcing Barcelona into awkward situations, but it won’t be enough for a win. Choose: Chelsea 1, Barcelona 2.
