Napoli needed just one point against Udinese to secure their first Serie A title in 33 years and they succeeded. The team led by Luciano Spalletti drew 1–1 at the Dacia Arena in Udine and clinched the title, leading Lazio by 16 points with five games remaining before the end of the season.

After drawing against Salernitana at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples last Sunday, Napoli had to suffer for a few more days until Thursday. The game against Udinese didn’t start well for the Azzurri as Udinese found the opening goal with Lovric, but it was Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen who scored the equalizer.

Osimhen has scored 22 goals in 27 Serie A matches so far and with this match against Udinese, he became the top scorer of the African Serie A alongside George Weah (46 goals). This is how the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona reacted to Osimhen’s goal, with the home fans gathered at the stadium in Naples to watch the match:

The wait is finally over. Napoli can celebrate their third ever Scudetto and one of the most unlikely we’ve seen in a long time.
