American actress and singer Dove Cameron has spoken openly about losing the role of Glinda the Good Witch in Bad to pop star Ariana Grande. Read on to know what the 27-year-old said about her 29-year-old musician boyfriend.

The singer auditioned for Glinda’s in Bad, but the role went to Grande, who seems to have a blast playing it. But Cameron has only good things to say about the Positions hitmaker despite that and even called her a ‘living icon’.

“I’m so excited for Ariana. She’s a truly dear friend of mine. We met when we were super young. I think she’s going to kill it. I think the entire cast is phenomenal from head to toe. So, as a fan , I’m really, really excited to see it,” she shared The cover. The two singers previously worked together in 2016 Hairspray Live together and even starred in their own teen television series on Nickelodeon and Disney while they were stars.

Speaking of the audition, Cameron revealed, “I definitely went for it. I know it was a really long process for everyone who went for it. It was one of the longer processes I was a part of.” Earlier in 2019, she told Weekly entertainment“I don’t think everyone wants me to be Glinda, but I mean, it’s the part of my life. I’ve been dreaming about it since I was seven. I mean, I should be so lucky to be considered.”

“I’m a huge fan so it would be a huge responsibility and I’d be happy if I qualify!” she then added. Grande posted a lengthy Instagram gratitude post on April 3 about playing the role of Galinda. “I am enjoying every millisecond left with my Galinda (although she will irrevocably be with me forever). She shows me so many new things every day,” she wrote.

“I am so grateful, I don’t know what to do or say… to be here in Oz where every day is a life changing day… to feel, learn and grow so much in such a disarming speed…to feel so much love around me, to start each day before the sun rises and end when the sun goes down…” Grande said, then thanked her cast mates. “to transform parts of me and to heal that I never knew they needed. or perhaps did,” de God is a woman hitmaker added.
