American singer-songwriter Meghan Trainor has apologized for her remark to teachers during a conversation she had about her intention to homeschool her children. Read on to know what the 29-year-old had previously said and how she apologized for it.

It was during an episode of Meghan Trainor and her brother Ryan’s podcast Working on it when the parenting conversation started with guest, influencer Trisha Paytas. “We homeschool our kids. Everyone on TikTok says, ‘That’s what it’s like to have kids in America. I’ve got a bulletproof backpack.’ I was like, f*ck all that,” Trainor said.

Paytas agreed with the singer’s comments, adding that she also had concerns about possible bullies and teachers when considering the potential dangers of schooling in America. “F*ck teachers dude,” the No And Made you look noted hitmaker during the April 19 episode of the podcast. The conversation touched on the ongoing mass shootings at schools across the country, the latest of which was the Nashville shooting.

Meghan Trainor apologizes after backlash

After massive backlash over her comment to teachers, Trainor addressed the conversation via a TikTok video captioned, “I’m sorry for being careless with my words. I LOVE teachers and I’m here for you [red heart emoji]. Let’s work together to make schools a better place.” In the video, she apologizes to teachers around the world.

“Teachers of TikTok and teachers of the world, I recently said ‘F teachers’ on the podcast and I don’t feel that way. I was excited because we talked about sending your child to school here in America is so horrifying . I did not mean [to say that about] all the teachers,” the Grammy award-winning singer said in the video posted April 23.

“I love teachers, I fight for teachers. I think they have the toughest job and are the most underpaid. They are most undervalued when they literally educate us all. I don’t want to make excuses, I just want [say] I’m so sorry,” added the 29-year-old, who has a 2-year-old son named Riley, and is currently pregnant with another child.

“I am so sorry to all the teachers I made feel bad and I will remind myself that my words can definitely have consequences and I will be more careful,” Trainor concluded her apology video. Meanwhile, Paytas gave birth to her daughter Malibu last year.
