Tuesday was a major blow to Bayern Munich with their 3-0 defeat at Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final. But it seems it wasn’t the only blow that happened. After the game, Bayern striker Sadio Mane punched teammate Leroy Sane in the face after the game, according to Sky Germany.

Sane’s lip bled after the altercation and, according to the report, the two had to be separated in the locker room.

Sane started the game against his former club but was not very lucky in what was a night to forget, with Mane coming on as a second-half substitute.

The two were seen on the pitch late in the game, but it’s unclear what the issue was between the two. Bayern Munich has not commented on the incident.

This is clearly not what Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel wants to see a week before the second leg in Germany, where their European lives are on the line. While a comeback against an in-form City seems quite unlikely, having this kind of dressing room layout doesn’t help the team dynamic, especially with such a big task ahead.

Time will tell if a penalty is called but in what has been a frustrating match at the Etihad, losing your cool doesn’t bode well for Mane as he looks to impress on his return from injury and make significant progress in the future minutes to earn.
